Verizon Business Moves Communications to IP for Eclipse International
Reading, England, November 14 (ots/PRNewswire)
- Belgian Digital Communications Company Chooses IP Integrated Access to Support Customer Interactions
Eclipse International, the Belgian digital communications company, is building its current and future customer interactions on a VoIP platform from Verizon Business. Eclipse, based in Turnhout, Belgium, is using the platform, called IP Integrated Access, for all of its inbound and outbound voice communications. The company hopes that, by moving its communications onto an IP platform, it will be able to realize cost efficiencies and also enhance its portfolio of customer solutions.
Eclipse International specializes in digital communication and marketing services and offers its customers automated and fully personalized cross-media direct marketing and sophisticated Web2Print and Print On Demand solutions. The company, which plans to establish additional European operations in the next few years, views voice over IP as a key element of its growth strategy -- not only will it be able to simply connect satellite offices to the Belgian HQ's PBX, but it will also be able to realize cost efficiencies from using VoIP for inter-office international calls.
Eclipse International chose Verizon's IP Integrated Access solution to enable it to quickly transition its voice communications to an IP platform. IP Integrated Access is part of a comprehensive portfolio of IP-based services designed for companies wanting to converge their voice and data networks, and enables customers to quickly capitalize on the benefits of IP telephony, such as on-net calls without voice surcharge, and access cost savings. Although IP Integrated Access can work perfectly with a traditional PBX, Eclipse International chose a VoIP PBX because of the extra functionality. The company plans to integrate its voice communication more and more into its other communication offerings.
Eclipse International chose to work with Verizon Business as the company is one of the first telecommunications providers able to deliver an operational VoIP solution, enabling Eclipse International to converge its data and voice networks.
Erik Laurijssen, chief marketing officer of Eclipse International, commented: "The installation has been remarkably simple, with all our voice communication running smoothly over IP as soon as Verizon IP Integrated Access was installed. The ability for us to realize the cost and efficiency benefits of IP telephony will stand us in good stead in an increasingly competitive marketplace. We also hope to be able to expand our portfolio of customer services over the Verizon Business IP platform. We look forward to working with Verizon Business in future years to realize our own business goals."
Renaud Montulet, marketing director for Belgium and Luxembourg, Verizon Business, commented: "Eclipse International is the first in a series of Belgian VoIP customers to go live using our IP communications portfolio. We are delighted to be able to help the company realize the benefits of IP communications, and hope to support its future communications needs as they expand further into the IP environment. Verizon Business' approach to VoIP is to support customers to transition when they want, how they want -- it's not about a wholesale change of technology, but rather building around existing technology to help customers quickly realize the benefits of IP."
Verizon IP Integrated Access, launched in 2005, allows customers to manage their IP evolution. Delivered via the company's Private IP service using multi protocol label switching (MPLS) or over a Verizon dedicated Internet access circuit, Verizon IP Integrated Access offers a fully managed service implemented directly in the access and IP network. It can greatly limit the need for a customer to expend capital. The traditional customer PBX is kept in place, with Verizon Business simply enabling inbound and outbound voice routing over the existing IP dedicated or PIP access network without the requirement for PBX changes, LAN upgrades or end-user re-training.
Eclipse International began using Verizon IP Integrated Access in August.
