Cuxhaven, 8 February 2005 ? Plambeck Neue Energien AG announces interim group results for the 2004 financial year.
The company generated consolidated sales of approx. EUR 94 million (previous year EUR 96.6 million). Losses resulting from ordinary operations amounted to approx. - EUR 161.0 million (previous year: EUR 0 million). The balance sheet loss amounted to - EUR 188 million (previous year: - EUR 6.5 million). There was an approx. EUR 25 million change in loss carry-forwards due to the amendment of the annual financial statements of Plambeck Norderland for 2002 and 2003 which became necessary following the revaluation of wind park projects.
The group results are influenced by two main factors: 1. Amortisation totalling approx. EUR 88 million; among others of goodwill of approx. EUR 51 million for Plambeck Norderland GmbH, EUR 30.8 million for SSP Technology A/S and EUR 1.5 million for Plambeck Neue Energien Solar Technik GmbH. 2. Other operating expenses of approx. EUR 98 million (including provision for bad debts and the write-down of receivables from long-term contract work).
On 31 December 2004 the capital stock of the group amounted to approx. EUR 20.8 million and that of Plambeck Neue Energien AG amounted to approx. EUR 32 million.
The goodwill of SSP Technology A/S is written down from EUR 35.8 million to EUR 5 million. After a completed contract work was not accepted on schedule due to project delays, production of rotor blades for wind energy plants at the Danish manufacturer has been suspended. SSP Technology A/S is currently involved in negotiations for the establishment of a corporate partnership.
Plambeck Neue Energien AG is currently negotiating for the disposal of its 80% shareholding in French wind park developer Ventura S.A.
The negotiations by Plambeck Neue Energien AG concerning a new project line of credit under the existing lines of credit hold a promise of success. The result will be of great importance for the further development of the group in 2005.
