Bauer wins contract to clear construction field and remediate contaminated soil for building project "HafenCity Hamburg"

Schrobenhausen, 28. September 2006 - The city of Hamburg has awarded
the construction and engineering company BAUER Aktiengesellschaft,
which has been listed in official trading (Prime Standard) on the
Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 4 July 2006 to clear the construction
field and decontaminate soil of the area Grasbrook. Total volume of
the order amounts to 18.5 million Euros, completion of the project is
planned for fall 2007. Bauer acts as general contractor. BAUER
Spezialtiefbau GmbH is going to build an excavation pit with
diaphragm walls, BAUER environment group is going to remove
contaminated soil and clean ground water at the site of the former
gas work plant Grasbrook.  HafenCity Hamburg is one of the biggest
urban-planning development projects in Germany. Within the framework
of this project an area of about 1.5 million square metres will be
restructured to build a new city quarter with a metropolitan mixture
of living, cultural, tourism and trade elements.
