aleo solar AG has secured long-term supply of solar cells for manufacturing solar modules: a major supply contract with Q-Cells AG guarantees the supply of solar cells with rated power totalling 100 megawatts. In total aleo solar has already secured about 450 megawatts for the next ten years by medium and long-term contracts with suppliers.
"That means we have an extremely good supply of solar cells - despite the continuing shortage of silicon. So we will also be able to respond to future demand and ensure our continuous growth", says Jakobus Smit, aleo solar board member.

The Company aleo solar AG (formerly S.M.D.), with operations in Oldenburg (Niedersachsen) and production in Prenzlau (Brandenburg) was founded in September 2001 and manufactures solar modules based on silicon cells. There are now about 230 employees working in both locations. The factory in Prenzlau has a yearly capacity of 90 megawatts, which makes it one of the largest production plants for solar modules. The company generated a turnover of 106.9 million Euros in 2005. aleo solar AG (DE000A0JM634) has been listed in the Frankfurter stock exchange Prime Standard since July 2006. With its stake in the Brandenburg technology enterprise Johanna Solar Technology GmbH, the company has secured its access to promising thin-film technology.
