Essen/Germany, 9 June 2009. Arcandor AG today filed with the Essen District Court to open insolvency proceedings due to threatening illiquidity. Subsequently, Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH, Primondo GmbH and Quelle GmbH also filed with the Essen District Court to open insolvency proceedings due to threatening illiquidity. Thomas Cook Group plc, the Primondo Specialty Group GmbH as well as its subsidiaries and the homeshopping channel HSE24 will remain unaffected by the insolvency proceedings.
