Leonardo Venture decides to amend 2007 annual financial statements

Leonardo Venture GmbH & Co. KGaA will belatedly amend its annual financial statements for 2007; these had originally been published in April 2008. This was decided upon by the managing director of the general partner, Steffen Paul, following discussions with the responsible auditor.
The amendments mean that a supplementary audit will have to be performed by the auditor. Through to the end of 2008 Leonardo Venture subjected its entire portfolio to an extensive review, and as a consequence of this was forced to perform considerable write-downs. On the basis of the latest findings ascertained in 2009 the new management now assumes that the undesirable developments at some shareholdings already existed at the end of 2007 - despite reports to the contrary made by the management of the general partner at that time.
Against this background the published financial reports will again have to be amended and audited. This applies to both the 2007 annual financial statements and to the reports made in the course of 2008, as such reporting was based on the events in the course of the full 2007 business year.
