Several other large orders in pipeline for 2010
Vienna, 5 October 2010 - The AE&E Group - the leading international plant engineering and construction company that makes up the Plant Construction Division of Vienna listed A-TEC Industries AG - has secured an order to supply four sets circulating fluidised bed (CFB) boilers with a total capacity of 600 MW to the Indian Essar Group´s Salaya III power station in the state of Gujarat, part of its growth plan to increase power generating capacity from 1220 MW to 11470 MW. The contract was awarded to local Indian subsidiary AE&E Chennai Works Pvt Ltd. Phased delivery of the four boilers is to take place within 25 months.
AE&E is experiencing a big jump in demand going into the fourth quarter. A number of major contracts in the energy and environmental sector are about to be awarded, and the AE&E Group is excellently placed to win them. Clients are particularly impressed by the group´s innovative technologies in its Asian, Turkish, UK and US growth markets. AE&E currently expects to win major orders in the next months for its coal and biomass fired steam generators, energy from waste plants and flue gas cleaning systems. These orders should lead to a total order intake of almost one billion euro at year end.
Salaya III power station marks big breakthrough The order for the Essar Group´s Salaya III power station in Gujarat, India comprises project management, and the design, engineering and delivery of the four CFB boilers, each capable of producing 495 t/h of steam, as well as erection and commissioning support. The boilers will run on a blend of petroleum coke and bituminous coal. The boiler pressure parts will be manufactured at AE&E´s manufacturing facility in Chennai, India. The boilers are also being designed with the capability to fire 100% of coal.
AE&E won the order - its first large boiler contract in India - in the face of fierce competition. It already has a long track record of supplying the Indian public sector. The new contract represents a major advance as it gives the group a foothold in the country´s fast growing private sector power generation industry. Since AE&E specialises in the design and construction of large boilers with capacities over 100 MWe the order represents a breakthrough for its efforts to win additional business in this area.
