"The team of THI is delighted that the TEAK shares are listed in the composition for the period 2009/2010. THI recognizes the membership as an acknowledgment for the achievements of the sustainable THI business model made within the past years. But it is also an explicit duty for the future years to improve constantly", so Paul Rettenbacher, Investor Relations, THI.
THI BUSINESS MODEL SUITS PERFECTLY SUSTAINABILITY TREND The term sustainability originally comes from forestry. After oil and natural gas, wood is the world´s third most important raw material. But of these three commodities wood is the only renewable one. The foreseeable ban on exploitation of tropical wood species from primeval forests in the future can make investments in plantations and wood class assets increasingly interesting. Investments in wood plantation, especially teak plantations, are becoming more and more popular.
The THI´s share (ISIN: AT0TEAKHOLZ8) developed very well since the beginning of 2009, the share price moved up considerable approx. plus 70 %. But not only had the price increased. Also the daily average volumes and the average number of daily transactions pushed upwards.
UNITED NATIONS (UNO) INVOKE TO INVEST IN FORESTS AND NATURE The UNEP, United Nations Environment Programme, repeatedly invokes all states to invest much more in forests and soil protection antagonizing global warming. States shall invest in forests to increase the absorption of CO2. www.unep.org
