PRESS RELEASE
CompuGROUP is starting a new family of products for an integrated system of treatment with the AOK Hessen
Koblenz - 24th October 2007: The CompuGROUP Holding AG, a leading European eHealth services provider, has issued a report on the introduction of a new product portfolio for the electronic handling of innovative, integrated forms of treatment: In the coming weeks a completely new approach to treatment in the form of the pilot project "AOK aktiv + vital" is to be tried out in selected regions of the State of Hesse. The partner in this is the AOK Hessen.
Following the example of large Disease Management Companies on an international level, CompuGROUP had, at the beginning of this year, called into existence a Management Company incorporating the key functions of Medicinal Path Development, Decision Support, Disease Management, Case Management, Benchmarking and Financial Clearing. This is CompuGROUP´s subsidiary "Gesellschaft für Integrierte Versorgung mbH (GIV)". This company takes care of the required, comprehensive service in the context of "AOK aktiv + vital".
Alongside the technical realisation, the incorporation of the content of current medical guidelines in a way suitable for everyday use, the definition of clear target parameters, the close involvement of the patients and a system of remuneration for the participating doctors directed towards the health improvements made are the facts that point the way forward from the company's point of view.
Beginning with the widespread disease Diabetes Type 2 continual treatment paths are made available, indication based. Many other indications are being prepared for the State of Hesse. At the centre of interest in this are current medical guidelines that have been selected by leading experts, prepared for "AOK aktiv + vital" and made available in a form that is suitable for the daily practice. The Medical Information System recognises autonomously which of the defined guideline options are best suited to the respective patient and can suggest this to the doctor in each individual case at the moment the decision is to be made. The most up-to-date medical knowledge is thus always available at the time when the doctor really needs it.
"With "AOK aktiv + vital" we underline once more our offer of supporting today already treatment possibilities that will be available in the future on the basis of innovative Medical Decision Support Systems. And with a powerful partner such as the AOK Hessen at our side, this can be realised in a form that can set standards country-wide. It is our declared aim to establish the new family of products now being introduced consequently across the whole country," emphasises Jan Broer, board member responsible for Health Connectivity Services of CompuGROUP Holding AG.
Leading Medical Information Systems such as ALBIS, TURBOMED, MEDISTAR and M1, reproduce the overall project in a practical manner in the doctors' computers, reduce the amount of administration and support the doctor in his work and in the decisions that are to be taken. Hereby the company strictly observes the current medical framework conditions and the greatest possible amount of independence in medical questions.
"We are very proud of the fact that leading medical experts are supporting us in the conception and realisation of "AOK aktiv + vital" and are also helping to shape this innovative path from a scientific point of view." So says Dr. med. Dierk Heimann, who is the medical head of project at CompuGROUP.
