ISO: After the International Standard - now comes the ISO 14001 video clip
Geneva (ots)
ISO (International Organization for Standardization (www.iso.org) has launched a video clip on the International Standard ISO 14001, which is implemented in 138 countries.
ISO Secretary-General Alan Bryden introduced the clip as one of a number of initiatives undertaken by ISO and its national members since last year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of ISO 14001, the first standard in the family.
Launched in 1996 and republished as a new, improved version in 2004, ISO 14001 gives the requirements for an environmental management system (EMS), which is a tool for helping organizations to implement good environmental practice and to aim for continual improvement of their environmental performance. ISO 14001 has become the international benchmark for EMS and is now thoroughly integrated with the global economy.
The video clip, ISO 14001 - the world's environmental management system standard, can be downloaded free of charge from ISO's Web site (www.iso.org).

They include new or updated standards for use in greenhouse gas accounting and verification programmes and emissions trading, environmental labelling, life cycle analysis and environmental communication.
