finances/company
The liquid funds raised in the initial public offer of Meinl International Power have been invested in safe and profitable short-term money market papers. The market is continuously monitored, and the investments optimised accordingly. Nevertheless the capital is available at short notice to invest in portfolio projects when needed. It has always been crucial for Meinl International Power to comply with very stringent investment criteria and to minimise any risk. The funds are invested exclusively in Euro and only with banks having a minimum rating of AA. The interest rate is geared to Euribor. For the purpose of proper risk spreading, there is a maximum investment limit per bank and the money market instruments have staggered investment periods.
The capital held by Meinl International Power is currently EUR 560 million and therefore the net asset value, or NAV, per share is EUR 9.30, which is significantly higher than the current share price.
