New organizational structure in the Henkel Group
Henkel to focus on
"Brands & Technologies"
Düsseldorf (ots)
Following the sale of Cognis, Henkel will focus more strongly on its branded consumer products and industrial systems and service businesses. This organizational restructuring includes personnel changes at the Henkel Management Board effective January 1, 2002.
In addition to the already existing business sectors Laundry & Home Care and Cosmetics/Toiletries Henkel will establish a third branded consumer products business sector "Consumer Adhesives" . This new business sector and the consequent separation of the branded consumer products and industrial systems and service businesses will strengthen Henkel's market position in the branded consumer products business. Effective January 1, 2002, the new business sector will be headed by Alois Linder (54), currently Managing Director of Henkel Ibérica, who will then become a member of the Henkel Management Board.
Industrial Adhesives, Engineering Adhesives and Surface Technologies will also be regrouped in a new business sector - "Henkel Technologies". This business sector will be headed by Guido De Keersmaecker (58), currently Executive Vice President Adhesives. The consolidation of all industrial systems and service businesses in one business sector will create synergistic effects within the Company and enable Henkel to serve the markets in a more focused way.
Dr. Roland Schulz (60), Executive Vice President Industrial and Institutional Hygiene/Surface Technologies/Human Resources, will retire on December 31, 2001 after 30 years of outstanding service for the Company. Effective January 1, 2002, Knut Weinke (58) will become new Executive Vice President. He will be responsible for Human Resources in the Management Board, alongside his current Logistics function.
