Vienna/Frankfurt, 25.11.2008. C-QUADRAT Investment AG is preparing a share buy-back programme in respect of its own shares. An extraordinary general meeting has been convened for Thursday, 11 December 2008, the sole item on the agenda being the authorisation of the Management Board to acquire up to ten percent of the issued capital.
By taking this step, C-QUADRAT intends to exploit the exceptionally low share price at present to buy back its own shares and thus create acquisition currency for future acquisitions. "C-QUADRAT will continue aiming for further growth. In many cases, paying with treasury shares is less expensive than paying cash, and is sometimes even a precondition for a takeover", explains Alexander Schütz, C-QUADRAT founder and Management Board member. "This buy-back programme is therefore an important step in growing the company." The share buy-back programme could also have a positive impact on the current share price.
Before launching the share buy-back programme, and providing the general meeting agrees to authorise the Management Board to implement it, information about the scope and structure of the programme will be released by the Management Board in the form of an adhoc announcement.
