Frankfurt am Main, November 10, 2008 Mood and Motion AG, previously Neue Sentimental Film (ISIN: DE0005341408), a leading international company for the production of advertising films and TV formats has reduced its profit targets for the entire 2008 fiscal year. The company's management is now forecasting revenues of EUR 48 - 50 million and EBIT of EUR 0.7 million to EUR 1 million for the year as a whole.
The reduced profit forecast is due to the enormous insecurity among advertising customers over the past few months. The distortions on the capital markets and the fear of recession caused advertising customers throughout Europe to throttle their budgets in August. This trend increased in September and October.
Projects for which planning had already been completed were either trimmed drastically or even put back or cancelled. This caused a sub-optimal capacity uptake. Margins also came under pressure, which depressed Mood and Motion's earnings.
However, at present demand has increased, which is typical for the current season. As a result, the fourth quarter could prove to be strong despite the general reserved behavior by advertising customers.
However, in spite of this on the whole the management cannot see any realistic opportunity to achieve its original forecast of revenues of EUR 55 million to EUR 58 million with EBIT of between EUR 1.6 million and EUR 2.0 million.
