Deucalion Limited (Deucalion), an aviation investment fund advised by DVB Bank SE (DVB), and Marubeni Corporation (Marubeni), have formed a joint venture company, MD Aviation Capital Pte. Ltd. (MDAC), incorporated in Singapore, for the purpose of investing in commercial aircraft subject to leases with airlines worldwide.
The 50:50 joint venture company, advised jointly by DVB´s Aviation Investment Management team and Marubeni, will complete its first acquisition of assets by the end of 2010 and expects to further expand its investment portfolio in the future.
Bertrand Grabowski, member of the Board of Managing Directors of DVB and responsible for aviation, commented: "We are delighted to have concluded this new joint venture vehicle which represents our first such collaboration with Marubeni. This new venture continues the Bank´s strategy of opportunistically investing in the aviation sector through the Deucalion aviation funds, funds that have a proven track record of success going back to 2001."
