Frick, April 1st, 2009 - Lobeck Medical AG, a Swiss medical technology company listed in the Open Market of the Frankfurt stock exchange, completed the fiscal year 2008 with a turnover of almost CHF 3.3 million and an EBIT of CHF 304,000. The Revenue grew by more than 60% compared to the previous year. "Thus we were able to close with profit for the third time in succession", explains Andreas Dornbierer, president of Lobeck Medical AG. The equity of the Swiss medical technology company added up to CHF 998,000 per December 31st, 2008 (equity ratio 61%).
Under the brand name MediSmart® of Switzerland the Lobeck Medical AG develops and distributes user friendly product solutions for the medical diagnostics market with focus on diabetes (glucometer) and home test products. The rapid tests in the field of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) include, for example, early pregnancy tests and colorectal occult blood tests. To expedite the global expansion of the product lines of MediSmart of Switzerland®, the Lobeck Medical AG has recourse to a dense international distribution network which the company has built and established over the last few years.
"In fiscal year 2008, we were able to gain new markets for blood glucose meters as well as In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD)", says Andreas Dornbierer. "Our newest blood glucose meter Sapphire has been placed in the market very successfully. Another highlight is our collaboration with Lilly, one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, as distributor for glucose measuring devices in Greece."
The Lobeck Medical AG could continuously increase revenues for IVD home test products in various countries in the reporting year 2008. "In 2009 we will extend our existing product lines to continue the strong growth rate of the last few years. We cannot name concrete the figures yet because apart from the internal growth we have to consider a potential takeover or an in-licensing agreement of new products as well. Due to our international expansion strategy we expect significant growth in sales of our diabetes and home test products however."
