The Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG achieved a revenue of 32.9 million francs in 2011,
an increase of 4.6 per cent on the previous year.

In October 2011, the company was affected by floods that swept away sections of
the railway track and led to the suspension of operations. The effects of the
severe weather reduced the company's statement by around 800,000 francs.
Financial compensation from the federation and canton dropped by 3.5 per cent.
Nevertheless the company can present a positive result thanks to an increase in
operating revenue assisted by the sale of land at Interlaken Ost. A profit of
30,000 francs was recorded in 2011.

The Bernese Oberland Railway was able to increase traffic income by 4.2 per
cent, whereby travel business with Asian groups developed particularly well. The
Schynige Platte Railway was able to equal its record result from 2010, although
the flooding brought the marketing campaign introduced in autumn 2011 to an
abrupt end.
