The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mergers - Acquisitions - Takeovers 11.03.2014 SPAR Österreichische Warenhandels-AG has entered into an agreement with the Dutch trading company Koninklijke Ahold N.V. regarding the sale of SPAR Ceská obchodní spolecnost s.r.o., which in the Czech Republic operates approximately 50 SPAR- and INTERSPAR-stores and with 4684 employees in 2013 generated gross revenues of EUR 539.4 million. The transaction is subject to clearance from the competent antitrust authority. The SPAR Group in the Czech Republic also operates 27 Hervis-stores and the EUROPARK Prag shopping center which are not subject of this transaction.
