Company Information
CompuGroup Medical, one of the leading global providers of ehealth, has been able to achieve an annual growth of almost 30 percent for years now. This was a particular record for the year 2009, considering the world-wide financial crisis. This ongoing success story has now been documented in the current Lünendonk lists. For the second year in a row, CompuGroup Medical has been the absolute frontrunner among the "leading mid-sized German standard software companies", this time for the 2009 rankings. This is also the first time that CompuGroup Medical has been able to measure up to the big players in their sector: CompuGroup Medical has successfully ranked in sixth place on the list of the 2009 "top 25 German standard software companies".
Despite the worldwide financial and economic crisis, German standard software companies were able to consistently achieve a steady growth of five percent annually for the past five years. According to the Lünendonk Market Research and Consultancy Company, the 25 software businesses with the highest sales together generated in excess of 7.4 billion euros domestically. This corresponds to a domestic market share of 52 percent of the standard software business, which is an increase of one percent compared to 2008.
CompuGroup Medical AG, who achieved record sales, particularly in 2009, was ranked among German companies with the strongest sales results in Lünendonk´s current analysis. With an increase of 23 million euros in domestic sales and an increase of around 64 million euros in total sales, to a total of 293.4 million euros, the Koblenz-based ehealth business has achieved the outstanding result of being in 6th place among the top 25 standard software companies in Germany. This makes CompuGroup Medical one of the market leaders of their sector, and from an economic aspect, they are ranked alongside MICROSOFT Deutschland GmbH (first place), SAP AG (second place), ORACLE Deutschland GmbH (third place), Datev AG (fourth place), and Adobe Systems GmbH (fifth place).
In addition to the "top 25 German standard software companies", Lünendonk GmbH also presents a ranking of the ten leading mid-sized German standard software companies. It lists the ten companies with the strongest sales results that generate more than 60 percent of their sales through the production, sale and maintenance of standard software, are headquartered in Germany, and achieve total sales below 500 million euros. For the second year in a row, CompuGroup Medical AG ranked in first place on this list for mid-sized companies with records sales again in 2009.
Even though the top-ranked 25 standard software businesses all had very strong sales results, the growth rates achieved by CompuGroup Medical garnered particular attention. They are absolutely stellar, even when compared to the big players of the sector. While the top 25 companies achieved average increases in domestic sales of 3.3 percent, and twelve of the listed companies had declines in sales or had stagnant results, five companies were able to achieve double-digit growth in 2009. CompuGroup Medical was one of those five companies, with domestic sales increasing from 131 million euros in 2008 to 154 million euros in 2009, a total of 17.6 percent.
"This excellent result again confirms for us that we are taking the right steps. Our innovative products in particular prove that today, medical information technology is already the third industrial pillar of the healthcare system, next to medical technology and drug therapy, and has become the decisive factor for success in supporting service providers. There is a reason why we are able to reach more service providers with our intelligent software than any of our competitors", commented the founder and chair, Frank Gotthardt, on the top ranking on both of the Lünendonk lists.
In Germany alone, every other private practice physician uses CompuGroup Medical AG systems. Our intelligent software helps hundreds of thousands of physicians and treatment teams in private practices and in hospitals to find even better diagnostic and treatment options for their patients. This innovative product and solution spectrum has an enormous potential for development that is reflected in the sales figures. "We want to increase sales again next year - with a balanced mix of acquisitions and organic growth" commented Frank Gotthardt. CompuGroup Medical expects sales between 315 and 330 million euros for 2010, which would raise the expectation of again achieving a top ranking on the Lünendonk lists.
