Bank Gutenberg AG opens its doors today

1st October 2010: Bank Gutenberg AG, a private bank with seat in Zurich-Enge, commences business operations on schedule. The bank provides financial services for national and international clients, external asset managers as well as institutional clients.
Bank Gutenberg AG starts business operations on 1st October 2010 as a new private bank at its seat in Zurich. On September 3rd, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) granted Bank Gutenberg AG permission to carry out banking activities in addition to the previously approved securities dealer's licence.
The bank is mainly active as a custodian bank for independent asset managers. However, it will also provide banking services for wealthy domestic and foreign private clients as well as for small and medium- sized institutional clients.
Further to the account and custody account management, its range of services includes proactive investment advisory for private clients, comprehensive support of external asset managers and institutional clients, securities, foreign exchange and money market trading as well as the provision of financial solutions. Additionally, Bank Gutenberg's clients will benefit from the existing global network of external specialists who offer solutions in the fields of asset management, financial and tax planning as well as financing.
Bank Gutenberg AG's premises are located at Gutenbergstrasse 10 in Zurich in the direct vicinity of Bahnhof Enge. The Executive Board consists of Michael Widmer, CEO, Marcel A. Wäspi, Head Private Banking & Trading and Carlo Balmelli, Head Operations. The Board of Directors is made up of Alfons Niedhart (Chairman of the Board), Wolfgang Werlé (Vice-Chairman of the Board), Heinz Barmettler, Marco Bianchi, Herbert Boss and Erwin Koller.
