Neunkirchener Achsenfabrik AG (NAF) is market leader in bogie axles and currently employs approximately 450 members of personnel in Central Europe, Russia and North America. The majority of the company's workforce, approximately 430 members of personnel, are employed at the company's German plant in Neunkirchen am Brand. Service and sales offices can also be found in Russia and North America, with 3 employees based at each site. The company also has a construction and development centre in Munich, which employs 14 members of personnel. The company's turnover amounted to 92 million EUR in 2010. NAF has extremely high quality requirements of its products. Its axles and gears are in continuous operation across the globe, under highly diverse climatic conditions, often 24 hours a day, all year round. Constant use and minimal downtime ensure the high degree of added value required by engines and machines. Where downtime does occur, NAF immediately initiates a defect/error diagnosis and damage analysis, along with the respective repair measures. "We have opted for the IBS AG quality management solution in order to further improve our products and avoid wastage and defects. IBS is replacing the solution of a direct competitor with its holistic, integrated quality management system that is able to fulfil all our requirements", says Ralf Sauer, Chief Executive Officer of NAF. Mr. Sauer believes the main benefit potentials to lie in improved quality and lower costs. The "visualisation" and evaluation of production data enables short reaction times and a clear reduction in cycle times. "NAF will profit from our long-standing market experience, which spans almost 30 years in the field of Best Practice software solutions for quality management. We are in the comfortable position of being able to offer NAF an integrated solution for its requirements", says Volker Schwickert, Executive Vice President and Director of Sales and Marketing at IBS AG. "IBS AG's cross-company quality management system and each of its cross-industry applications use the latest technology to support the planning, acquisition, documentation and evaluation of all relevant quality data - from the product development to product manufacture and product acceptance and test", adds Mr. Schwickert. * * * About IBS AG IBS AG is a leading supplier of cross-company standard software systems and consulting services for industrial quality, production, traceability and compliance management.
