"In the last business year feratel put in a convincing performance with numerous innovations for its national and international markets. That is reflected in the results for 2006/2007. At the same time we have come a step closer to our goal of becoming a complete solution provider for the tourism industry," says CEO Markus Schröcksnadel in the light of the annual report now released. In the 2006/2007 financial year ending on 30 April 2007, sales at feratel media technologies AG increased from EUR 16.7 million to EUR 20.8 million. Operating income (EBIT) increased from TEUR 546.2 to EUR 1.0 million. Earnings before taxes (EBT) improved to EUR 1.1 million after TEUR 686.4 in the previous year. The reason for this very satisfactory improvement in the result is primarily organic growth within the group plus consolidation of four Sitour companies Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic and Slovakia at 1 February 2007. Consolidated net income increased from TEUR 575.9 in the 2005/2006 business year to EUR 1.1 million. EBITDA was also up, from EUR 2.6 million to EUR 4.5 million. In its year-end financial statements for 2006/2007, feratel media technologies AG reports retained earnings amounting to TEUR 910 after EUR 1.1 million in the previous year. At the Annual General Meeting scheduled for 19 October 2007, the Executive Board will propose payment of a dividend of 9 eurocents (after 8 eurocents in the previous year)
2006/2007 highlights
In the 2006/2007 financial year feratel was successful in the face of competition from home and abroad. The highlights for the year doubtless include the contract awarded by the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Affairs for a nationwide reservation system. feratel was also very successful on its home market in the Tyrol: The Paznaun could be convinced with an extremely complex destination management system from feratel. In another positive development feratel reports that, after years of effort, the company has succeeded in establishing itself on the Spanish market. In addition to several IRS projects, a first camera location was agreed in Spain, in the coastal resort of Cambrils. In Eastern Europe, too, feratel turned in an excellent performance in the year under report: the Czech Republic has now developed into the company´s biggest single market in the region, followed by Slovakia and Hungary.
Non-stop innovation
In 2006/2007 feratel again made its mark with numerous innovative solutions. That brought the company a big step closer to its goal of positioning itself as a complete solution provider for tourism and significantly strengthened and consolidated its position on its domestic and international markets. The latest developments in the field of television engineering confronted feratel media technologies AG with new challenges in the Telecommunications sector. For both digitization of its radio relay network and the switch to the 16:9 widescreen format, new technical answers had to be found, developed and implemented. They will also benefit in future from a specially developed design - on air at the beginning of December. With HDTV the next challenge is already being tackled. feratel´s Information and Reservation Systems Division is equally innovation-driven. Work is progressing full steam ahead on a whole series of projects and new developments. The Deskline® destination management system, for example, is currently being completely reprogrammed and redesigned, dar®WIN has been complimented. The Eurosoft system has been switched to application service providing. MeldeClient was adapted to the requirements of the German market. A special challenge of the 2006/2007 business year was definitely the development of an innovative visitor card system, with both the software and the hardware developed in-house in line with feratel´s role as a complete solution provider. feratel´s Media Division also had a busy and successful year: from transparent panorama information boards and electronically controlled LED displays for Sitour´s panorama boards and trail signposting systems, to a Multitext application for tourism developed in collaboration with TW1.
