Hamburg/Brussels, 03 April 2008. During the European Wind Energy Conference (EWEC) in Brussels, REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) and ENEL - biggest utility in Italy and second biggest in Europe - have signed a contract about the delivery of 42 wind energy turbines with a total output of 84 megawatts (MW).
The turbines are of the REpower MM92 type with two MW output each, destined for three wind farm projects of Enel Erelis in the Champagne-Ardennes region (France). The ex-works-delivery of the turbines is schedulded for the second and third quarter of 2009. The projects will be handled by the French subsidiary of REpower Systems AG, REpower S.A.S. France, which is located in Paris.
After the signing of the contract in Brussels, REpower CEO Per Hornung Pedersen expressed delight about the new order: "We very much appreciate ENEL´s decision to develop a mutually sustainable relationship with REpower."
The contract confirms Enel's commitment to grow in the renewables business and its strong interest in France as a key market for wind development.
