Company Information/Traffic Figures January 2010
In January 2010, Air Berlin, Germany's second-largest airline company, increased its revenue per available seat kilometer (ASK) to 5.24 Eurocents, i.e. an increase of 5.6 percent over the corresponding month of the previous year (January 2009: 4.96 Eurocents). Fleet capacity utilization decreased slightly to 69.1 percent, i.e. by 0.3 percentage points (2009: 69.4 percent). Capacity in January 2010 was reduced by 0.7 percent in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year. The number of passengers transported decreased from 1,903,330 to 1,880,669 passengers (including those traveling on the acquired TUIfly routes), i.e. a decrease of 1.2 percent.
