Mattighofen (euro adhoc) - KTM: Record sales in the first half year of 2012
50,233 motorcycles sold (+36%)
Mattighofen, July 19th, 2012
With 50,233 bikes sold worldwide KTM achieved record sales in the first half
year of 2012 which means an increase of 36% to previous year. The Duke 200 units
sold by Bajaj in India were included for the first time.
Despite a still declining overall market, especially in Europe, these increases
in sales are followed by considerable market share gains. The market share in
Europe could be increased by approximately 41% which means a share of 7% of the
total European market for the first time.
"This strong development results from a new vehicle concept in the offroad
sector with the Freeride 350 and the extremely successful launch of the new
street model Duke 690. Our product range in the Naked Bike segment now reaches
from 125 to 690 ccm" explains Hubert Trunkenpolz, CSO of KTM AG.
