autotest VIH(R) will be available in pharmacies and on pharmacy websites in France from the end of June 2015.

autotest VIH(R) a revolution in the fight against AIDS

To do more and improve access to the testing, the Ministry of Health has authorised the use of self-tests; they can be sold in pharmacies and sold with needing a prescription. These autotests are an additional testing tool for people who cannot or who do not want to use the current testing methods available.

The French company AAZ designed and validated the autotest VIH(R) with the help of a group of French HIV/AIDS experts.

autotest VIH(R) has been subject to preliminary studies thanks to the help of national organisations AIDES and HF Prévention.

autotest VIH(R) is easy to use. The result is available after 15 minutes using a drop of blood.

autotest VIH(R) will benefit from the assistance of Sida Info Service in order to offer support to future users in terms of advice, guidance, and help with doing the test thanks to its anonymous and free helpline.

AAZ benefits from the expertise of its sister company Nephrotek, an innovative French SME behind the HIV TROD tests which are now widely acknowledged and used in all of TROD's screening facilities in France (600 testing locations: community groups, testing centres, hospitals, private doctors, etc.).

autotest VIH(R) is offered in the context of the launch of a range of self-tests available in pharmacies called health self-tests, which also includes the first FERTILITY self-test for men and the first GLUTEN self-test to screen for gluten intolerance.

Further information is available on http://www.autotest-sante.com

For more information, to meet with experts and ask them questions about it, a press conference will be held in June when the self-test will be available in pharmacies.
