Exciting races at the junior championship in Brno: The riders of the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland fought for every position at the Pirelli Round

From 19 to 21 July 2019, the fourth of six racing events of the R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland took place at the Automotodrom Brno. The riders were actively supported by the R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland Team as well as YART, Pirelli and Valentinos at the Pirelli Round of the Yamaha Switzerland junior program.
Due to changing weather conditions and partly wet asphalt, the riders got to know the demanding race track during the training sessions and practiced adapting to new driving conditions. The riders completed the qualifying on Friday. This resulted in the starting grid for the two races on Saturday and Sunday.
The field was rounded off by Toni Erhard, the reigning champion of the IDM Supersport 300 Championship, 15-year-old Tristan Walch (ESBK Junior Supersport 300 in the context of the RFME), Louis Lagrive (Championnat de France supersport 300), Petr Svoboda (European Talent Cup - FIM CEV Repsol), Kilian Lütolf and Real Road Racing legend Horst Saiger.
In two fiercely contested races the young riders showed all their skills. Characterised by frequent changes of position, fair duels but also some injury-free crashes, the spectators once again experienced racing action at a high level. At the end of the first race, the Portuguese Pedro Fragoso was at the top of the podium for the first time and secured 25 important points in the fight for the championship. Next to him, Frenchman Tom Berçot and German-Brazilian Alan Kroh were able to get a place in the top 3. The second race on Sunday started with changing weather conditions for the first time this season, which brought an exciting decision phase around the choice of tyres. A leading group of six riders quickly set themselves apart from the rest of the field and clinched victory among themselves. After a crash of the winner of the previous day, Pedro Fragoso, Tom Berçot celebrated his fourth victory of the season. Behind him, Stéphane Frossard and Alan Kroh crossed the finish line. After the two races, Tom Berçot leads the championship with 172 points behind Alan Kroh for Team RR Randy Racing (159 points) and Stéphane Frossard for Team Badan Motos (140 points).
Yamaha Motor Schweiz looks back on a successful fourth round of the R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland in Brno, Czech Republic. Last but not least this is due to the sponsors and the hospitality team of eila.
The teams and riders are currently preparing for GoPro Round, which will take place for the second time this season at the Circuit Dijon-Prenois from 9th to 11th August 2019.
