Art and Technology in Harmony: Michaela Litzka shows innovative augmented reality artworks in New York
New York / Vienna / Zürich, 21.4.2023 Michaela Litzka, painter and long-time director of Kunstfabrik Wien, will be displaying virtual art for the first time at an exhibition in New York. The novelty: digital artwork shown together with physical artwork. The displays were created in cooperation with Swiss painter & sculptor Sarah Montani. The works of the two artists now circulating virtually around the world are innovative, strikingly different and exciting - these are the words that aptly describe the collaborative work of Michaela Litzka and Sarah Montani. The vernissage will take place on April 22 at a Swiss pop-up gallery in Lower Manhattan and the exhibition will run from April 17 to 26, 2023.
Michaela Litzka is a painter and artpreneur living in Lower Austria and working in Vienna. After her training as a construction technician and several years working in the construction industry, she found herself wanting to move away from the limits of statics and construction and discovered her passion for painting. In 2023 she created her first augmented reality piece together with Swiss painter & sculptor Sarah Montani. Her virtual works are now racing thru cyberspace to make their debut in New York together with physical artwork. Michaela Litzka has been creating numerous expressive abstracts and subtle nudes as well as infinitely delicate landscapes since 2003. Currently, it is mainly her large-format paintings with vibrant colors that captivate the viewer. A mixture of materials, such as marble powder, bitumen, sand or paper gives rise to exciting structures in a rush of colors, compelling the viewer to discover something new.Michaela Litzka has been responsible for the organizational management of Kunstfabrik Wien since 2007. Her key focus is to provide a solid foundation to those who desire to express themselves artistically and the space where they can let their creativity develop freely. At Kunstfabrik Wien, together with renowned lecturers from all over the world, Michaela Litzka brings technology and a well-developed understanding of art closer to a broad audience in a variety of ways. Her favorite quote is from Pablo Picasso: "Art washes the dust of everyday life from the soul".
