-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ad-hoc disclosure pursuant to section 15 of the WpHG transmitted by euro adhoc with the aim of a Europe-wide distribution. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6-month report 11.08.2011 Solar-Fabrik AG (ISIN: DE0006614712) achieved another volume growth period during first half of 2011, this time ca. 7 % from 52 MWp (corresponding period 2010) to 56 MWp. Despite the continuing price erosion and the ca. 10 % revenue decrease to 87.342 million euros (previous year: 96.475 million euros) the EBIT reached break-even at 6,000 euros (previous year: 9.192 million euros). The company therefore achieves a half year loss of 754,000 euro (previous year: 7.567 million euros profit), representing 0.05 euros loss per share (previous year: 0.65 euros profit per share). The first half of 2011 was characterized by politically extremely unstable regulations. While the Italian regulation now clearly demonstrates the political support for European production by a 10 % higher feed-in-tariff, the fundamental revision of the German energy policy offers no additional support for the PV solar industry. As an example, the much discussed FIT for greenfield projects was not reactivated. Solar-Fabrik AG has successfully leveraged the price erosion of the supply chain to achieve a break even EBIT in the first half of 2011. The Solar Power Systems segment reached an EBIT of 380,000 euros (previous year: 9.865 million euros) from revenue of 87.121 million euros (previous year: 96.092 million euro). The Solar Cell Production segment improved the EBIT to -441,000 euros, compared to -808,000 euros in the first half of 2010. Solar-Fabrik AG considers their volume growth in the given weak market environment as a success of their sales strategy. The export share of 65.9 % during first half of 2011 as well as the investment in SolSystems Energy GmbH, a German installation company, acquired on July 25, 2011, are a very good platform for further growth. The management considers the half year break-even as the best possible proof of a sustainable strategy and a great starting point for achieving the 2011 targets as outlined in the annual report 2010.
