Separate Control Points for First and Business Class Passengers Implemented Throughout Frankfurt Airport's Terminals

Frankfurt, Germany (ots)

In cooperation with the German Federal
Ministry of the Interior, Frankfurt Airport (FRA) has implemented
class-differentiated security control points as a service enhancement
for first and business class passengers. Frankfurt Airport is the
first airport in Germany to offer this so-called "fast lane"
procedure, which reduces waiting times in front of the control points
for selected groups of passengers. However, the length and intensity
of security checks remains the same for all passengers and their hand
baggage. Since January 2001, the "fast lane" procedure has been used
in selected areas of Terminal 1 without any problems. Following
successful tests conducted over many months, the German Federal
Ministry of the Interior has now approved general implementation of
"fast lanes" at the security control points throughout Terminals 1
and 2.
Passengers traveling with first and business class tickets, as
well as frequent flyers and status guests of the airlines, are
invited to use the fast lanes. Passengers are informed about the
appropriate security-control lanes to use when they pass through the
boarding-card control on their way to the transit areas. The lanes
for all ticket classes lead to the same common security-control area
where screening of passengers and their hand baggage takes place.
