Malaysia Airlines Signs New FRA - Cargo Handling Contract with Fraport AG

Malaysia Airlines and Fraport AG
Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide have signed a new agreement to
extend the cargo handling services for the Asian carrier at Frankfurt
Airport (FRA) - Europe's largest airfreight hub. Inked in Frankfurt
last week, the contract goes into effect retroactive to March 1,
2002, and runs until 2004. "We are pleased that we can further extend
the successful cooperation with Fraport's Cargo Service team," said
Thomas Bürkle, Malaysia Airlines Cargo Manager for Germany. Since
1999, the Asian carrier has been a customer of the Cargo Service
department of Fraport's Aviation Ground Services and Logistics (BVD)
division. The signing ceremony took place in Frankfurt and was
attended by Fraport's Ulf Steinmann, Head of Cargo Service;
Hans-Georg Emmert, Head of Sales and Marketing Cargo Service; and
Anne Smirr, Key Account Management Cargo Service. Representing
Malaysia Airlines were J.J. Ong, Senior General Manager Cargo;
Christopher Yek, Area Manager Germany, Russia and Poland; and Thomas
Bürkle, Cargo Manager Germany. Following the contract signing,
Malaysia Airlines inaugurated its new cargo offices at FRA's
CargoCity South.
