Vienna, March 2, 2009: The Telekom Austria Group (VSE: TKA, OTC US: TKAGY) today announced that Boris Nemsic will resign as Chief Executive Officer of the Telekom Austria Group and Chief Executive Officer of mobilkom austria AG as of March 31, 2009 to take on the position of Chief Executive Officer of VimpelCom in Russia.
Boris Nemsic, who has been Chief Executive Officer of the Telekom Austria Group since 2006 has informed the chairing committee of the supervisory board of his resignation as of March 31, 2009.
"Today the Telekom Austria Group is a well-positioned and strong player on the telecommunication markets in Eastern- and Southeastern Europe with a sound basis in its domestic mobile and fixed net business. The Telekom Austria Group has strong management teams in all its operations and I am proud that the company is uniquely positioned to shape the future to the benefits of all stakeholders", comments Nemsic on the performance of the Group.
