The Kudelski Group takes over TicketCorner

On 7 May 2001 Kudelski SA, operating out of Cheseaux near Lausanne, took over the share capital of TicketCorner AG, a 100% subsidiary of UBS AG based in Rümlang near Zurich. With almost 6 million ticket sales for some 10,000 events, a turnover of CHF 147m in the 2000 business year and over 150 staff, TicketCorner is undisputed leader on the Swiss ticketing market. Each of the parties agreed not to disclose details of the purchase price.
The takeover of TicketCorner is an important milestone in the Kudelski Group's plans to merge digital TV, the Internet, mobile telephony and secure access systems for buildings. Thanks to its leading know-how in the field of ticketing TicketCorner is quite simply an ideal complement to the core expertise currently residing in the Kudelski Group. The Group is confident that in the medium term it will be able to offer integrated solutions for electronic ticketing and access systems (direct-to-gate), enabling, for example, a fixed reservation for a sports, theatre, concert or cinema event to be made via an interactive TV, with all the additional consumer benefits this entails.
