In the first six months of 2006 revenue decreased by 1.8 percent to Euro 57.9 million compared with the first six months of 2005.
Operating profit increased due to significantly reduced restructuring costs from a loss of Euro 5.5 million in the first six months of 2005 to a profit of Euro 1.4 million in the first six months of 2006.
EBITDA for the first six months of 2006 increased to Euro 23.1 million, a 25.2 percent increase compared with the first six months of 2005. The EBITDA margin increased from 31.3 percent to 39.9 percent.
In the first six months of 2006, EBITDA and operating profit were impacted by restructuring costs of Euro 0.8 and Euro 2.7 million due to the start-up of easy.TV.
Net loss for the first six months of 2006 was Euro 13.5 million compared with a net loss of Euro 60.1 million for the first six months of 2005. The improved results are due to the discontinuation of losses of the disposed Dutch subsidiary Multikabel, significantly reduced restructuring costs and the significantly reduced interest expense due to the new financing of the Company which was closed on December 5, 2005.
Revenue generating units decreased by 23,549 or 2.4 per cent from 964,043 at June 30, 2005 to 940,494 at June 30, 2006. While analog customers declined by 3.7 per cent, Internet and telephony customers increased.
