Ludwigsburg, 04 August 2009. Jetter AG (ISIN DE0006264005) has closed the first fiscal quarter at 30 June 2009 with a 1.2 Mio. EUR loss.
Compared to the first quarter of the previous year, the best in Jetter history so far, sales dropped by 47 % to 7 Mio. EUR, even less than the quarter before. Costs were lower, too, yet not sufficiently so to compensate for the missing turnover. Before interest and tax, Jetter suffered a loss of 1.2 Mio. EUR (previous year: 1.6 Mio. EUR profit). Consolidated loss was also 1.2 Mio. EUR, or .37 EUR/share (previous year: profit of 1.5 Mio. EUR or .48 EUR/share).
For the second quarter, an improvement can be observed on the sales front. Cost saving measures already implemented, above all short-time work, should stabilise the bottom line. Management maintains the objective to avoid significant cash-burn in the fiscal year. For the following year, management expects marked improvements of sales and result, based on existing new orders in the mobile automation area.
