Gräfeling/München (euro adhoc) - The Hönle Group benefited from the economic upswing that extended over all business segments. Sales revenue increased 28.1 % to TEUR 32,105 in the first six months of financial year 2010/2011. The higher sales level led to a significantly improved operating result (EBIT), which climbed from TEUR 2,098 in the previous year to TEUR 4,981 in the current financial year, bringing the EBIT ratio to 15.5 %. Earnings before taxes (EBT) picked up from TEUR 1,981 to TEUR 4,833 in the same period, and consolidated net income rose from TEUR 1,282 to TEUR 3,390. Earnings per share jumped from EUR 0.22 to EUR 0.60. The operative cash flow also improved from TEUR 1,439 in the previous year to TEUR 3,311 in the first half of the current financial year.
Outlook: Business prospects have further improved for the Hönle Group and the Management Board therefore raises the forecast for the current year. The Company aims at increasing sales from the previous year's level of EUR 54.6 million to EUR 67 million in this financial year, and at an increase in the operating result from EUR 5.5 million to EUR 9 million in the same period.
The integration of UV-Technik Speziallampen GmbH, which was acquired in January this year, is proceeding swiftly. Following relocation of the medium-pressure lamps manufacture, the sale of the former UV Systec GmbH and acquisition of the company premises at Wümbach, Ilmenau, further steps to increase productivity are in planning and are scheduled for implementation by end-2011. In all, the company's core business, water sterilisation, represents a sustained growth market in the life sciences segment.
In order to achieve future growth, Hönle will increase its capacities in sales, development, and applications technology, in particular.
The Hönle Group has pursued a successful acquisition strategy in the past. In addition to organic growth, the acquisition of companies in the field of UV systems, lamps, and adhesives technology will also be of importance in the further development of the group structure.
