ABIT AG turned a group profit of TEUR 275 (all figures according to IFRS) in 4th quarter making this the third period of group profit in a row. Included in these group results is prorated goodwill and software amortization of Phinware AG - merged in 4th quarter - in the amount of TEUR 518.
On a stand-alone basis over the whole of 2003, ABIT AG posted a group profit of TEUR 67 following a loss of TEUR -6,996 in 2002. Including the consolidated Phinware AG the net group earnings were TEUR 24.
Group sales for the closed fiscal year 2003 totaled TEUR 16,874 compared to TEUR 16,381 a year earlier. Adjusted for the special factors of having sold the U.S. business in the fall of 2002 and the inclusion of Phinware AG in the consolidation (Q4), group sales - in the Germany operations of "old" ABIT AG - rose 30.5 percent from TEUR 11,610 to TEUR 15,155. In 4th quarter 2003 ABIT AG (including Phinware AG) recorded group sales totaling TEUR 5,940 (2002: TEUR 3,942).
The 2003 operating margin was about 11 percent on consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of TEUR 1,923 (2002: TEUR -3,602). In 4th quarter it was 19 percent on an EBITDA of TEUR 1,109 (Q4/2002: TEUR -2,116).
The company will be publishing its complete annual financial statements on 23 March 2004.
