freenet.de AG / Hamburg - freenet.de AG, Hamburg (SIN 579200) is signing a contract to take over the value-added services and telephony company Talkline ID, headquartered in Bonn. The takeover is subject to clearance by Germany's Federal Cartel Office and other suspensive conditions, and is expected to close in Q1/2005. Both parties agreed to maintain strict silence about the purchase price. The Talkline ID GmbH was founded in Düsseldorf in 1991 as the InfoLine GmbH and has been part of the Talkline group of companies since 1992. The sectors Internet and telecommunications are merging increasingly with the media landscape and its contents. Television is becoming ever more interactive - today with the aid of telephone response and tomorrow increasingly via the Internet. Through the acquisition of Talkline ID, freenet is keeping pace with this development and is thus excellently prepared for the future. The acquisition also fundamentally strengthens freenet.de AG's B2B arm, allowing it to offer B2B customers attractive new applications in the future. Customers will benefit from highly efficient corporate connectivity solutions as well as Intelligent Network (IN) products complete with Audiotex¹ platforms. The new range includes a wealth of individual added-value services such as toll-free numbers, directory services, interactive calls and Premium SMS speed-dialing. freenet expects that the Talkline acquisition will take its B2B business to a new dimension. The Talkline ID GmbH is headquartered in Bonn, with offices in Elmshorn, Hamburg, Munich and Berlin, and has roughly 80 employees. It is one of Germany's biggest and most powerful vendors of value-added products. Talkline ID specializes in clients from the media sector (TV, radio, publishing companies), agencies, entertainment, call-center and consumer-goods companies/ brand-name manufacturers. ¹The Audiotex or Interactive Voice Response system is a voice dialog system that allows for callers to hold partially or fully automated natural-voice dialogs.
