AvW Invest extends mandates of Board members and continues acquisition strategy

At AvW Invest AG’s most recent Supervisory Board meeting, the
management contracts of Wolfgang Auer von Welsbach, Chairman of the
Board of Management, and of the two Board members Maria Auer von
Welsbach and Johann Linz were extended until the end of November
2011.

In addition, AvW Invest AG acquired a holding of approx. 1 per cent
in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange listed company Pine Technology
(Reuters: 8013 HK), a high-tech manufacturer of computer components.
In the 2004/05 financial year, Pine Technology’s volume of sales came
to about USD 264 million.

The AvW Group also purchased 100 kg of bullion bars. This is the
Group’s first acquisition of physical gold, which is intended to
serve as a long-term commodity investment. Furthermore, the AvW Group
acquired a 2 per cent interest in the German high-tech company
Euromicron (Reuters: EUCG:DE), which is active in the field of
optical fibre technology.

For the coming year, Wolfgang Auer von Welsbach, Chairman of the AvW
Board of Management, predicts above-average development for growth
companies in the high-tech sector. "We assume that these companies in
particular will achieve a better performance than the overall
market."
