The ProSieben Sat.1 Group has had a very successful fiscal 2004.
Despite of a slowdown of the advertising market in the second half of
the year, Germany’s leading TV company was able to significantly
improve its results and its profitability. On the basis of a first
analysis of the preliminary figures for the full year 2004,
consolidated EBITDA is expected to be EUR 321 million. This is a 70
percent increase compared to the previous year’s EBITDA of EUR 189
million. Consolidated revenues in full year 2004 are expected to have
grown by 1.5 percent from EUR 1.807 billion to EUR 1.835 billion. The
EBITDA margin in fiscal year 2004 has improved up to 17.5 percent
from 10.5 percent the previous year.

The significant improvement in results is partly due to the increase
in revenues and to the increase in audience market share of the
channel family. The channels Sat.1, ProSieben, Kabel 1 and N24 were
able to improve their audience market share by 0.4 percentage points
up to 29.4 percent in the commercially decisive target group of the
14 to 49 year-olds in 2004. The result improvement is also due to
cost reductions. According to the preliminary review, total costs in
fiscal 2004 amount to EUR 1.577 billion, which is a decrease of about
8 percent compared to the previous year. Total cost reductions
thereby exceeded the targeted EUR 130 million.
