Solar-Fabrik AG (ISIN: DE0006614712) has increased its first half 2010 sales by ca. 100 % to 96.475 million euros (first half of 2009: 48.245 million euros), improving the corresponding EBIT by 12.833 million euros to 9.192 million euros (first half of 2009: -3.641 million euros). The half-year-result is 7.567 million euros (first half of 2009: -9.429 million euros) representing 0.65 euros earnings per share in the first half of 2010.
The business segment solar systems contributed 96.092 million euros (first half of 2009: 48.245 million euros) to the half year external sales. The corresponding EBIT of 9.865 million euros (first half of 2009: -4.100 million euros) represents the best half year result ever for the business segment.
The business segment solar cells accounted for -0.808 million euros (first half of 2009: 0.588 million euros) of EBIT for the first half of 2010, including 0.852 million euros of impairment and extraordinary depreciation. These write offs will also limit the full year results to a loss, however, the company internal cell production provides for the most flexible supply chain in the current market environment.
Solar-Fabrik AG reiterates its strategy of further profitable growth throughout this year. While the regional focus is shifting towards the Mediterranean countries Solar-Fabrik is working on further regional expansion to be executed this year to support mid and long term growth. Anticipating a minimum of 65 MWp shipments for the second half of 2010 Solar-Fabrik is successfully positioned in a very dynamic market environment, realising market share wins.
