OuterBay today announced that it has acquired United Kingdom-based BITbyBIT International to offer the most complete solution for Application Data Management. This new class of application aware infrastructure manages data growth to improve application performance and stability while containing costs. The new company will provide customers with enterprise-wide application data support, increased performance of existing products, and unrivaled expertise in application data management.
"Our acquisition of BITbyBIT complements and greatly strengthens OuterBay's market position," said Michael Howard, OuterBay Chief Executive Officer. "Our combined customer base already includes many of the world's largest companies and databases, and we now have the technology foundation to quickly drive forward into new application areas and industries. We look forward to a successful future together."
The new company will offer the most comprehensive Application Data Management suite for Oracle and PeopleSoft applications, as well as all leading databases, mainframes, operating systems and custom applications. In short, customers worldwide now have a single vendor to rely on for managing performance, stability, and cost-containment challenges across all application and database initiatives. The integrated suite will be available in the fourth quarter of 2002.
"Our customers have been asking for a single solution to all of their data management needs," said Huw Price, BITbyBIT President. "With a merged product suite and the combined domain expertise of our two organizations, we'll be able to support application data management across the enterprise. Further, with our combined global presence - OuterBay in the U.S.; BITbyBIT in Europe and the Far East - we'll be able to take new solutions to a larger market with speed and efficiency."
Founded in 1990, BITbyBIT currently provides data management tools from its Oxford (UK) headquarters.
