The extremely challenging market environment within the oilfield service industry is reflected also in the business results of Schoeller-Bleckmann Oilfield Equipment AG (SBO), listed on the ATX market of the Vienna Stock Exchange, for the 2016 financial year. Global spending of oil companies for exploration and production went down by a total of 42 % for the second year in a row. Bookings fell by 17.0 %, to an expected MEUR 169 (2015: MEUR 203.6). Sales contracted by 41.7 %, to MEUR 183 (2015: 313.7). Profit before tax arrived at MEUR minus 47 (2015: MEUR minus 20.0). Liquid funds as at 31 December 2016 - following the acquisition of Downhole Technology - came to MEUR 193 (31 December 2015: MEUR 196.3).
