Hamburg, March 02, 2005. Pandatel AG (ISIN DE0006916307) announces its preliminary results for the fiscal year that ended December 31, 2004. The company posted sales of nearly EUR 15m (2003: EUR 20.1m) in 2004, thereby slightly exceeding its forecast of EUR 14.5m (ad hoc disclosure dated October 07, 2004). Net loss for the year 2004 is approximately EUR -14.5m (2003: EUR -5.7m). Among other factors, the high loss is caused by one-time charges due to restructuring measures introduced late last year.
As announced previously in the ad hoc disclosure of October 10, 2004, the main reason for the negative business development is the rollout of new products that took longer than anticipated. The new systems Yumix 4000 and MACS4000 are expected to contribute positively to the sales and earnings for FY05 after the testing phase is completed successfully for these new products.
As a consequence of the companys business development, Pandatel introduced reorganization measures in Q4/2004 to cut costs in 2005 in a decisive manner. By streamlining its product line and new orientation of the company, Pandatel expects to achieve sustainable improvement of results for FY 2005.
