Vienna, September 01 2003 - S&T System Integration & Technology Distribution AG (Vienna Stock Exchange: SNT; OTC: STSQY), a leading provider of IT services in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe, is setting up a subsidiary, "S&T Österreich Informationstechnologie GmbH."
The new subsidiary will deliver the IT services that S&T has been providing successfully in 19 countries in Central and Eastern Europe to customers in Austria
Given S&T's comprehensive expertise and many years of experience, implementing custom-tailored solutions for mission-critical applications in mature markets such as Austria is a logical step in the company's development.
By making the move, S&T is responding to calls from Austrian customers working in Eastern Europe who would also like to purchase S&T's services on the domestic market. The new subsidiary will start operations in October.
Karl Tantscher, CEO of S&T, says that "due to the increasing need for greater data security and service reliability we expect the new S&T subsidiary to start strongly and achieve quickly a good market position. The new company will bring together Austrian industry know-how and the outstanding IT solution competence of 1,200 experienced S&T employees in an ideal form. We are convinced that with this combination and access to a platform with a large number of IT specialists from Central and Eastern Europe, our potential customers will be able to look forward to a highly competitive range of services. EU enlargement will also make it easier for us to do business across borders."
Further details about the new company will be announced at a press conference with Group and Austrian management on 16 September 2003.
