Food giant "Lura" awards S&T one of the biggest SAP contracts ever in Croatia
Croatia's largest newspaper "Vecernji list" commissions S&T to implement SAP
14 January 2004, Vienna, Austria - Austrian IT service provider S&T will set new milestones in the modernisation of management control at the two Croatian corporations. The projects will be implemented over the next 18 months by S&Ts Croatian consultancy team with support from S&T's international resources. A major argument for S&T was the one-stop service offer: consulting, project management, licensing, implementation of software and hardware as well as training and maintenance. Lura and Vecernji list expect that this step will enable them to make significant cost reductions and increase efficiency of their operations.
These multi-million Euro contracts make S&T one of the leading suppliers of SAP solutions in Croatia, as the order from Lura is one of the biggest SAP projects in the country's history. S&T's international presence allows it to carry out ambitious large-scale projects as the company can draw upon additional consultancy resources from other S&T countries.
Lura - optimised management control for greater business success The challenge facing the largest milk and beverage producer in the country (3,000 employees and annual sales of around EUR 230 million), was to replace the IBM AS/400 solutions previously in place by a single, modern system. In the first phase of the project, the "heart" of the software, "mySAP Business Suite," with the most important modules such as finance, controlling, material management, production planning, sales and distribution and human resources, will be implemented.
Zeljko Peric, chairman of the management board at Lura regards S&T as the optimal service provider for these requirements and is pleased "to be working together with such first class partners as S&T and SAP".
In future, management will be able to call up a complete overview of the company at the touch of a button, while the quality and up-to-date nature of the data will enable them to make sound decisions faster. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2005.
Vecernji list - expansion of IT architecture with SAP The biggest newspaper in the country, which was acquired by the Austrian Styria Media Group in 2000, is also pinning its hopes on an SAP solution from S&T. Vecernji list will install the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite from SAP with the standard modules finance, controlling, material management and human resources. One major advantage of SAP's ERP system is that it can be integrated into Vecernji list's existing newspaper production system, which will not be replaced. The project will be completed in April 2004.
