- Preliminary sales: EUR 13.3 mill. (Q2-2009: EUR 8.1 mill., +64.3 %) - Preliminary pre-tax earnings (EBT): EUR 1.7 mill. (Q2-2009: EUR -4.9 mill., + EUR 6.6 mill.) - 2010 sales forecast now EUR 43 - 45 mill. (was EUR 39 - 41 mill.); 2010 EBT forecast now > EUR 3.5 mill. (was > EUR 1.5 mill.)
Ahrensburg, July 13th, 2010 - The second quarter of 2010 went better than expected for Basler AG. According to preliminary figures, sales and pre-tax earnings were significantly above previous year's levels and beyond management board's expectations.
Group sales increased to EUR 13.3 mill., exceeding the Q2-2009 level of EUR 8.1 mill. by 64.3 %. Earnings before taxes (EBT) for the group were EUR 1.7 mill., up EUR 6.6 mill. against the previous year's value of EUR -4.9 mill.. The EBT-margin for the second quarter was 12,8%.
Assuming continued market development we increase our guidance for the fiscal year 2010. We expect group sales to grow to a level between EUR 43 mill. and EUR 45 mill. (prev. guidance: EUR 39 - 41 mill.; 2009 sales: EUR 33.7 mill.) at an EBT of no less than EUR 3.5 mill. (prev. guidance: > EUR 1.5 mill.; 2009 EBT: EUR -8.0 mill.).
The financial report for the 2nd quarter 2010 will be published on August 5th 2010.
