Syndesis Wins for Best Customer Success Story at 2004 Billing and OSS World Excellence Awards

Syndesis has been recognized for "Best Customer Success Story" at the fourth annual Billing and OSS World Excellence Awards. This award was presented to Syndesis based on its deployment of Syndesis® NetProvision, Syndesis® NetDiscover and Syndesis® NetOptimizer at a Tier 1 North American service provider.

Syndesis' deployment activity honored by the award includes three solutions:
-- NetDiscover is being used to upload network and service data from the service provider's DSL access network and ATM/FR backbone, and to identify discrepancies between Syndesis' accurate network view and often conflicting views in manually updated OSS. With mechanized upload and discovery capabilities, parallel processing, and non-intrusive network reads, NetDiscover rapidly uploaded the carrier's large DSL access network and heavily configured WAN backbone switches -- all without impacting other users or management tools. Off-the-shelf multi-vendor support enabled initial solution deployment in just four weeks.
-- NetOptimizer is performing service migration and network maintenance activities, such as ISP moves and DSLAM re-homing. Prior to deploying NetOptimizer, the service provider relied on limited script-based tools and labor-intensive procedures to move existing services. NetOptimizer not only mechanizes these moves, performing them in bulk; it also validates these moves against the accurate Syndesis database prior to execution, enabling potential errors and conflicts to be addressed ahead of limited maintenance windows.
-- NetProvision is automating the logical provisioning and activation of ATM and Frame Relay services and enabling full flow-through order processing.
Syndesis' role at this Tier 1 service provider continues to expand based on these successful projects and Syndesis' track record in the industry. Syndesis is now also automating the provisioning and activation of IP-VPN services and, having successfully deployed NetDiscover and NetOptimizer in support of the carrier's DSL access network, Syndesis has also been selected for the flow-through provisioning and activation of ADSL services. Existing projects are also expanding, including a project to integrate NetProvision more tightly with the service provider's service assurance tools, enabling proactive service restoration and automated service repair.
Syndesis was initially selected for deployment after an extensive evaluation of some half dozen OSS solutions for data reconciliation, network maintenance and optimization, and automated provisioning. The carrier's decision was based on Syndesis' ability to meet both immediate and long term requirements, as well as its successful Tier 1 track record, NGN data expertise, and carrier-class software and service solutions.
Syndesis was presented with the "Best Customer Success Story" award last night at the Billing and OSS World 2004 Excellence Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. The award, which recognizes activity between February 2003 and February 2004, is the result of extensive evaluation and research by "Billing World and OSS Today" magazine editors and a panel of leading independent industry analysts. In 2003, Syndesis won the OSS World Excellence Award for "Operational Excellence" based on its work at Telecom Italia. In 2002, Syndesis was honored with an OSS World Excellence Award as the industry's "Best Provisioning System."
