CURANUM to take
over the FAZIT Group

With effect from September 7, 2006, Munich-based CURANUM AG, a nursing home operator listed on the SDAX, is to take over the FAZIT Group which is located in Nuremberg. FAZIT operates 8 care homes in Bavaria, Saxony and Thuringia with a total of 600 care places and 176 assisted living apartments. With its occupation rates running at a high level, the FAZIT Group, which generated sales of around EUR 16 million, had an operating profit of EUR 1.9 million in the financial year 2005. CURANUM is to purchase FAZIT with a new, unencumbered property worth around EUR 5 million and a cash portfolio of EUR 3 million at an overall price of EUR 13 million.
The nursing care facilities of the FAZIT Group enjoy an excellent reputation in their environment which they have gained by offering high standards of care and service. The occupation rate is thus very high. With an innovative concept for care of senior citizens and property which has been set up according to the most recent scientific standards, the facilities are optimally equipped for the future. By adding these new locations to its portfolio, CURANUM AG's network of nursing care facilities throughout Germany is ideally supplemented. Thanks to the locations that are close to each other, partly smaller homes belonging to the FAZIT Group can also be operated efficiently, while realizing synergy effects within the CURANUM network.
