A New Logo for Valeo, Reflecting an Ambition Based on Innovation
Paris (ots/PRNewswire)
In 2003, Valeo celebrated 80 years of a life rich in events and innovations. From a modest company supplying clutch facings, the Group has today become one of the world's leading automotive suppliers.
Valeo, a positive, universal name
On May 28th 1980, the Company adopted the name "Valeo" in order to unite all its brands and teams. The five letters together form a name which is short and easy to pronounce. But first and foremost, Valeo is a Latin expression meaning "I'm well" as in Cicero's letters: "Si vales, bene est: ego valeo" ("If you're well, that's good, then I too am well").
24 years later, the Valeo logo is evolving.
Valeo, a Group in motion
The new logo reflects the company's dynamism, openness, innovation and growth.
The Valeo name is no longer enclosed in the rectangle, whose shape suggested an engraved mechanical part. The typography - upright and thick, to express industrial know-how - has also changed. Only the green color, unusual in the automotive world, remains: it emphasizes the Group's commitment to the environment.
The values of innovation, industrial excellence and respect for the environment remain, but the new logo, which is fluider and more elegant, highlights the Group's dynamism.
This dynamism and balance are reflected in the simple, clear, sloping typography. The underscore, which is steel gray/blue, simultaneously evokes both movement and precision.
"Through this new logo, Valeo is clearly stating its ambitions of growth and innovation," says Thierry Morin, Valeo Chairman & CEO.
